COVID-19 Vaccine News

January 14, 2021

Dear Residents and Families:

We wanted to provide you the latest on COVID in our Community.

We have some great news.  We currently have only one resident still on isolation protocols due to a previous positive test result. The last two quarantining employees are scheduled to return to work in a few days.

We now have the date of our initial vaccine clinic for our residents and staff.  It will take place on January 21, 2021 between 9am to 2pm.  The second dose will be administered on February 18th.  We will have subsequent clinics schedule for future new residents and staff and residents and staff who may not be able to receive their initial does on January 21. We were scheduled with both CVS and Walgreens and Walgreens came to us with dates earlier. Both were providing the Moderna Vaccine.

Vaccines are voluntary, and we need to collect signed consent forms from all residents or residents’ power of attorneys/guardians.  We will be asking your assistance to complete these forms and return them to us by January 19th. I will attach the consent forms with instructions to the email with this letter. If you are the POA for a resident, please complete and return. For residents who are their own person, we will be assisting you with these consents.

Please remember that protection from the virus can take up to two weeks after the second injection and that mitigation strategies such as social distancing, masks, hand hygiene will continue to be in place. These vaccines have been rolling out in some of our affiliate communities with great success. We are excited that this is finally rolling out to our residents and staff.

As always, if you have any questions or concerns please me.

Sincerely,

Carolyn Lynch
Executive Director

COVID-19 Update

December 22, 2020

Dear Residents and Families:

Thank you for your patience as we work through the transition in leadership and as we address the current surge in cases within our Community as a result in the surge of cases in our state and the country as a whole.

I have reviewed the communications by the previous Executive Director, and I am aware that a date of tomorrow (12/23) had been set to allow resident quarantine and visitation restrictions to be lifted.  However, as we continue to have residents and staff test positive for the virus, we cannot make these changes tomorrow as our priority is to ensure this virus is contained and further spread is prevented or mitigated. COVID-19 Update

July 30, 2020

Residents, Families and Partners:

We are providing you another update on what is going on at Grand Court related to COVID-19.

Since our last communication on July 21, will still have no new residents that have tested positive for COVID-19.

Since our last communication, we have had one staff member that has reported to us that they were tested two weeks ago, and recently received the testing results which were positive. However, they have remained asymptomatic. They have been quarantined from the facility, but will be returning based on guidance issued by the local health department and CDC. While they were in the building they were wearing the recommended personal protective equipment (PPE) and engaged in social distancing and followed hand hygiene protocols.

We continue to monitor staff and resident for any changes in their health condition, and we will contact resident physicians and responsible parties on any changes of condition, whether COVID related or not.

We will continue to provide you these updates as things change in the community. As always, please contact me with any questions or concerns.
Sincerely,

Robert Aaron Bottom
Executive Director

Residents, Families and Partners,

At The Grand Court of Mesa we’re committed to keeping you up-to-date and informed, especially during the turbulent times caused by COVID-19.

As I am sure many of you are aware, Arizona is experiencing an increase in the reported COVID cases.  We’re writing to inform you that we have just learned that one of our residents has recently tested positive with COVID-19. This resident was sent out to the hospital for reasons unrelated to COVID. While at the hospital they tested positive for COVID-19. This resident has not returned to our facility and has been transferred to another location. Read more

Information Regarding Visitation

Dear Residents, Family and Friends:

On March 14, 2020, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services advised of a nationwide restriction on visitation for certain health facilities, due to the coronavirus. Though these restrictions were drafted for skilled nursing facilities, they address risks similar to those posed to other senior living communities. CMS has directed that only health care workers or end-of life visitors be allowed to visit the community during this time. Until further notice, we will follow this direction, and will not permit non-essential visitors. We continue to encourage virtual visitation by phone, FaceTime, Skype, etc. It is important for you to remain connected with your loved one, and we will be happy to work with you to accomplish this in the absence of an in-person visit.
